Mumbai, July 2025: Istituto Marangoni Mumbai proudly announces a monumental achievement for one of their student body’s promising talents, Anshika Mangla, whose innovative creation, ‘The Binnai Lamp’, has garnered significant attention at the globally renowned Milano Design Week 2025. Anshika’s participation at the prestigious Salone Satellite stage, a dedicated platform within the Design Week for emerging designers, marks a pivotal moment in her burgeoning career and highlights the exceptional quality of design education fostered at Istituto Marangoni Mumbai.
Milano Design Week 2025, a beacon for design innovation worldwide, resonates with the compelling theme of ‘SEAMLESS SINGULARITIES’. This theme invites designers, architects, and thinkers to delve into the intricate interplay between the artificial and the human, envisioning a future where everyday objects and spaces transcend their mere functionality to become integral, intuitive components of our lives. This year’s event served as a vibrant crucible for exploring how technology, craftsmanship, and human experience can converge to create designs that are both seamlessly integrated and uniquely expressive.
Istituto Marangoni Milano Design, positioned as a crucial nexus for nurturing emerging talents and collaborating with established industry leaders, stands at the forefront of this profound exploration. The institution is showcasing a curated selection of six previously unpublished projects, meticulously developed in synergistic partnerships with an impressive roster of leading international brands. These collaborations include industry stalwarts such as Baleri Italia, Cappellini, Smeg, Lenovo, and Rivatelier, underscoring Istituto Marangoni’s commitment to bridging academic learning with real-world industry demands.
Anshika Mangla’s presence at Salone Satellite represents far more than just participation; it symbolizes a significant leap in her creative evolution. As a student who progressed in her courseworks from Istituto Marangoni Mumbai to the school’s Milan campus, her project, ‘The Binnai Lamp’, is a vivid testament to her distinctive design philosophy. Anshika’s work draws profound inspiration from the rich tapestry of Indian craftsmanship, skillfully weaving these traditional elements with contemporary design principles. Critically, her design seamlessly integrates a strong commitment to sustainability and an inherent desire for storytelling, demonstrating a holistic approach to creation that is both aesthetically pleasing and conceptually deep.
“It was an immense honour to present ‘The Binnai Lamp’ at Milan Design Week 2025 and to showcase my work on the Salone Satellite stage,” states a proud Anshika Mangla. “This experience truly symbolised my creative evolution, marking the journey from my foundational learning in Mumbai to this incredible opportunity in Milano. My design is a reflection of my unwavering commitment to integrating cultural heritage with modern design, always prioritizing both environmental responsibility and narrative depth. It’s about creating something beautiful that also tells a story and respects our planet.”
Anshika’s ‘The Binnai Lamp’ stands as a prime example of how the “SEAMLESS SINGULARITIES” theme can be manifested in tangible design. Her creation brilliantly demonstrates how futuristic thinking and innovative concepts can be intricately interwoven with practical, sustainable design solutions. Her work, alongside other ground-breaking projects showcased at the event, powerfully underscores Istituto Marangoni’s continuous and unwavering dedication to pioneering excellence in design education and fostering innovation that shapes the future of the global design landscape.
