Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University Hosts Free Employee Wellness CampNew Delhi, May 23rd, 2024: In a commendable move prioritizing employee well being, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) organized a free preventive health screening camp on May 21st, 2024, at its Dwarka campus in association with HEAL Foundation. The camp was inaugurated by Dr. Mahesh Verma, Vice-Chancellor of the university. Nearly 600 university employees will undergo comprehensive health assessments using state-of-the-art health pods (ATMs). The mobile health screening camp was facilitated by the HEAL Foundation.

While inaugurating the preventive health screening camp, elated Dr. Mahesh Verma, Vice Chancellor, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), said, “Preventive healthcare is paramount.  This initiative is a significant step towards ensuring the health and well-being of our valued faculty and staff.  The positive response has been overwhelming, and we plan to extend this program to our other campuses and colleges in the near future. Today’s preventive health screening camp is a testament to our commitment to the health and well-being of our staff. Regular monitoring of metabolic health vitals is crucial for early detection and prevention of potential health issues.”

The health pods, resembling ATMs, provide a non-invasive screening for 20 vital health parameters, including SpO2, blood pressure, BMI, waist-to-hip ratio, bone mineral content, pulse, temperature, visceral fat, body cell mass, body fat percentage, weight, and ECG. These metrics are essential for maintaining good health and preventing chronic diseases.

Dr. Swadeep Srivastava, Founder and Chairman, HEAL Foundation, emphasized the importance of preventive screening, saying, “By offering comprehensive preventive health screenings, we are taking a proactive step towards fostering a healthier work environment. We are prepared to extend this service to all campuses of the GGSIP university to ensure no employee is left behind.”

The initiative comes at a time when preventive health measures are gaining importance globally. With rising incidences of lifestyle diseases, regular health check-ups have become imperative. The screening provided by the health pods is quick, non-invasive, and offers immediate results, making it a practical tool for busy professionals.

This health screening camp aligns with the broader goals of promoting preventive healthcare and building a culture of health awareness. As institutions take up the mantle of health guardians, the ripple effects will likely be seen in healthier communities and a more robust workforce.
