Mumbai, March 13th, 2023: Mr. Balkrishan Goenka, Chairman of the Welspun Group, has recently been awarded the prestigious Exemplary Contribution Award 2021-2022 by the Synthetic and Rayon Textile Export Promotion Council (SRTEPC). This award was presented by the chief guest Shri. Piyush Goyal, Hon’ble Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Textiles, Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Govt of India.
Mr. Goenka has been recognized and honored with this award for his outstanding performance. This award is for the financial year of 2021-2022 for his valuable contributions to the Indian Textile Industry. This year the Council organized its Award Function for the excellent performance of its member-exporters for the financial year 2021-22.SRTEPC was set up in 1954 and it is the only Council in India for the export promotion of Technical textiles and manmade fiber textiles.

The Annual Export Award Function was held on 9th March 2023 at the National Centre for Performing Arts, Mumbai. The function was attended by over 300 people, including some of the most senior Government officials like Smt. RoopRashi, Textiles Commissioner, and Shri R. K. Mishra, Additional DGFT, Mumbai, Consul Generals of the Republic of Turkey, UAE, and Kenya were also present at the SRTEPC Award Function.
Commenting on this development, Mr. B.K Goenka, Chairman of the Welspun Group, said, “I am extremely pleased today on receiving this award as our efforts have been recognized.
