NISM to Mark World Investor Week 2026 with Week-Long Investor Education Drive and Investor Education and Protection Seminar with NCAER-IEPF Authority

Navi Mumbai / Patalganga, October 03, 2026: The National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) will mark the 10th World Investor Week (WIW) 2026 with a week–long investor education programme focused on promoting financial awareness, informed and responsible investing, and cyber safety among young investors and the wider investing community. 

The programme, being held from 5 to 10 October 2026, will bring together a series of on-campus activities, expert-led sessions and online investor education webinars. NISM will also host free Investor Education Visit Programmes for 6 days at its Patalganga Campus for nearly 2400 students from colleges across the region. The programme is designed to provide students with an engaging and interactive introduction to the securities markets, investing principles and the importance of making informed financial decisions. 

The programme will feature industry expert sessions and sessions led by NISM academic faculty members on investing and securities markets, career opportunities, and demonstration of NISM’s  lab facilities, along with an entertainment act/DUET ACT performance by Young Creative Production Team focused on cybersecurity. Students will also participate in a “Crack the Case Study” competition, followed by a prize distribution ceremony. 

On 8th October, in collaboration with The National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER)  and The Investor Education and Protection Fund Authority (IEPFA), an Investor Education and Protection Seminar will be held on the topic “The Future is Now: Gen Z Driving Universal Digital Financial Education for Viksit Bharat”. The eminent speakers in the seminar include: Mr. Suresh Goyal, Director General, NCAER; Mr. Sanjay C. Purao, Executive Director, SEBI; Mr. Sumit Garg, CEO, IEPFA, Min. Of Corporate Affairs, Government of India; Dr. C. S. Mohapatra, IEPF Chair Professor, NCAER; and Mr. Sashi Krishnan, Director, NISM. 

Adding an interactive element to the learning experience on all the six days of WIW 2026, the programme will include activities such as a Jigsaw Puzzle, Jenga – Myths & Facts, aimed at addressing common misconceptions around investing, and a Selfie Point with themed props and a celebrity backdrop. Complimentary breakfast and lunch will also be provided to participating students.

To extend the reach of its investor education initiatives, NISM will conduct Online Investor Education Webinars on 5, 6, 7, 8 and 10 October 2026. The webinars will be open to investors, students and learners seeking to strengthen their understanding of financial markets and investing.

The introduction of these courses underlines NISM’s focus on strengthening cybersecurity capabilities and building greater resilience across the financial ecosystem. With increasing digitization of financial services and the evolving nature of cyber threats, the courses are intended to support greater awareness and preparedness among professionals and stakeholders across the ecosystem.
