Kochi, May 18, 2024: ESAF Small Finance Bank has received approval from the Reserve Bank of India to appoint George Kalaparambil John (DIN: 00694646) as the Whole-time Director (Executive Director) of the Bank. This approval was communicated via RBI’s letter DoR. GOV. No. S1065/29.44.005/2024-2025 dated May 16, 2024, is granted under Section 35B of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949.

George Kalaparambil John will serve a three-year term starting from the date he assumes charge. The Bank’s Nomination, Remuneration, and Compensation Committee of the Board (NRCCB) and the Board of Directors will convene shortly to formalize the appointment. Following this, the Bank will seek shareholder approval in compliance with the Companies Act, 2013, and SEBI Listing Regulations.

George Kalaparambil John has 30 years of diverse experience across Micro Banking, IT, Finance, HR, and more. He holds an MBA in Fintech from BITS Pilani and an MSW in Community Development from the University of Pune, contributing significantly to the bank’s microfinance business.
