Hyderabad, March 20, 2025:The cow is a universal mother, says Shradhe Gopal Saraswatiji Didiji, an IAS aspirant turned Gau Premi and Pracharak who has been travelling all over India creating awareness about the importance of India’s most sacred animal cow.

She was in the city in connection with Gau Kripa Katha, a five-day spiritual talk and storytelling, a rare collection of facts from our ancient scriptures about Gau Mata. You probably have never heard that much material with proof and evidence from our scriptures. These are designated as ‘Gau Kathas’ and are being told by her at Hare Krishna Golden Temple (Sankirtan Bhavan), Road No.12, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad.

The 29-year-old Sadhvi from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, is on her maiden visit to the city, a six-day tour at the invitation of Dhyan Foundation (DF), a volunteer spiritual and charitable NGO.

In a bid to revive the ancient Indian tradition and culture of conserving the Holy cow, the ‘Gau Katha’ is being organised by Dhyan Foundation, a five-day oration which will continue till 21st March in the city between 4 to 7 pm at Hare Krishna Golden Temple with great fervour and enthusiasm.

Interacting with the media on the sidelines of the Gau Katha at Hare Krishna Golden Temple as well as her visit to Dhyan Foundation Cow shelter near Shamshabad, she said India was home to 80 crore cows before Britishers invaded India. Now the population of the gau vanish has come down to 9 crores. Similarly there used to be Gau Katha, an ancient tradition and culture of conserving the Holy Cow. But that disappeared ever since the Britishers invaded India.

A home without a cow is like one without dear ones. Cows are the abode of the Goddess of wealth. Sins don’t touch them, says the 29-year-old Shradhe Gopal Saraswatiji Didiji (Disciple of Spiritual Guru Shri Gopalacharan Gopalanand Saraswati Maharaj). Her guru Gopalacharan Gopalanand Saraswati Maharaj is on a 31 years long 1, 25,000(one lakh twenty-five thousand) kilometres padayatra across India to spread the importance of gau matha. Started his journey in the year 2012, he visited 25,000 villages and covered four states and now entered Maharashtra. He will visit Telangana shortly, she shared.

The cow is the mother of all. There should be a law in the centre protecting the sacred animal cow. Though there are some state governments like Rajasthan, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, there is no such law in the centre that protects cows from slaughter. We need laws protecting and conserving the Holy cow. Cow conservation must be part of the school curriculum, she said

We provide through ‘Gau Katha’, which has now proved to be a powerful medium to create awareness amongst the masses about the relevance of the sacred cow in our lives, Shradhe Gopal Saraswatiji Didiji said.

She visited a Gaushala being run by the Dhyaan Foundation for the past five years at Dhyan foundation at Peddashapur, Goluru Road, Shamshabad which is home to 3000+ rescued, abandoned and sick.

Dhyaan Foundation is the only organization that is working with the Border Security Force to rehabilitate cattle rescued from the Indo-Bangladesh border. Dhyan Foundation has been awarded national, state, and private awards from multiple organizations. It runs 47 cow shelters across India housing 70,000 cattle are rescued from the clutches of butchers. One of their cow shelters in Chakuia in Jharkund alone houses 20,000 cows.
