72% of participant profiles shortlisted for 100+ roles during the 4th edition of Careernet Career Fair for Women

October 12th, 2022, Bengaluru: India’s leading talent solutions provider, Careernet, successfully organised Hitachi Presents Careernet Prism Career Fair for Women, Powered by Biocon and Co-powered by Sapiens, on August 27, 2022. The virtual event concluded with over 70% of participants being shortlisted for over 100+ roles in top-tier companies present including Hitachi, Biocon, Sapiens, Shell, Smith and Nephew, PubMatic and Solera.

On hosting the third successful edition of the Career Fair for Women, Anshuman Das, CEO and co-founder of Careernet commented, “Some of the biggest challenges women face in their careers is a lack of opportunities to thrive. We are in the talent business, so the challenges of our talent should also be our business as well. We are happy to see another successful year of the women’s career fair and hope to have more opportunities to gather like-minded leaders and change advocates so we can build a stronger, more inclusive India Inc.“

Organized by Careernet Prism, an offering that helps employers build inclusive workplaces with diverse talent from among Women (including back-to-work programs), People across regions and ethnicity, Persons with Disabilities (PwD), LGBTQ+ and Veterans, the event attracted 1800+ registrants.

Commenting on the initiative, Balaji AV, Director – Talent Acquisition, Hitachi Vantara India Pvt Ltd., shared, “We are delighted about the success of the diversity fair anchored by Careernet for Hitachi Vantara India. It was great to see women leaders from Hitachi Vantara and other Fortune Brands share their experiences and provide leadership guidance to ‘Women In Technology’ on their career paths and inclusion. We need to continue to do these sessions more often and help enable strong women networks across companies to be benefited.”

Annie Acharya Associate Director – HR & D, E&I Lead Biocon said “It was our first ever partnering with Careernet in their virtual career fair for diversity hiring. Overall it was a great experience working with them. They have a strong network and were successfully able to pull in a large crowd of talent pool for the event.”

The participants interviewed and got hired for roles such as AWS Developers, cloud engineering, data scientist, software engineering, QA automation engineering, big data analyst, full stack developers and others by employers with offices across Pune, Bengaluru, Gurugram, Delhi and Hyderabad.

Kaimal Vinoo Director – Talent Acquisition Sapiens, added “The event was well coordinated and valuable insights about the partnering firms were shared. The event is a good branding tool for corporations. Careernet is growing its wings in this space and we intend to partner with them and grow together.”

A spot survey conducted during the event found that 89 percent of respondents feel it is still important for every company to strive for gender diversity with 33 percent revealing not being granted a raise when asking for one. The survey also divulged that 95 percent of female participants still prefer working in hybrid or remote models. The initiative is a proactive step by Careernet to offer employers who share the same vision to come together to mend gender disparity gaps in the industry.
