Hyderabad, March 2023Apollo Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (AIMSR), Hyderabad; hosted a TB Awareness Program, at Apollo Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Jubilee Hills; today, on the eve of the WORLD TB DAY 2023. The Department of Community Medicine, AIMSR, conducted a poster presentation by undergraduate medical students and interns, as part of World TB Day. They also participated in the short educational video competition at the National level conducted by the National Task force on NTEP.  

The World Tuberculosis Day is commemorated globally every year on the 24th of March. The theme for this year’s WORLD TB DAY is “Yes We can End TB”. The AIMSR focuses on nutritional support for TB patients and spreading awareness about Tuberculosis. The Program was attended by State and Hyderabad district National TB elimination Program (NTEP) Team.

AIMSR has been focused on spreading awareness regarding Tuberculosis in its urban and rural field practice areas over the last decade. The Institute has adopted over 1000 TB patients in Hyderabad and Rangareddy districts and is providing nutritional support for 6 months under Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan. The Apollo Institute of Medical Sciences and Research is also providing treatment facility to drug-resistant TB patients.
