5th April 2024: Rasmalai has achieve the esteemed title of being the second-best cheese dessert in the world, as per a report from Taste Atlas, a renowned travel and food guide page. Rasmalai, originating from Bengal also known as Rasomolai, is a delicacy crafted from chenna — a type of cheese. This delectable dessert is soaked in malai or clotted cream, and infused with the aromatic essence of cardamom. Renowned for its richness and irresistible taste, Rasmalai holds a cherished place in Indian households, symbolizing a delightful indulgence in sweetness and tradition.

Holi and Diwali, two prominent festivals in India, witness the widespread tradition of serving rasmalai in almost every household. To elevate its delectable taste, this creamy dessert is often embellished with almonds, cashews, and a hint of saffron, enhancing its richness and flavor. According to a report by Taste Atlas, which was shared on Instagram, India secured the second position in the top 10 desserts in the world. Topping the list was Poland with its sweet dessert called “sernik,” while Greece claimed the third position with Sfakianopita. Notably, Greece stands out as the only country to have two dishes featured in the prestigious list.
