9th May 2024: Shri Subrata De, the founder of “Swaranjali” Delhi, an organization recognized by the Delhi government, has been putting on festivals annually, since 2000, to promote and preserve our rich cultural legacy and the various Gharanas and the artists that represent them.

Swaranjali will be hosting “Shraddhanjali” 2024, an evening of classical vocal and instrumental music program to celebrate the ongoing “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.” The event is tentatively scheduled for July 8 and 9, 2024, at Rama Devi Women’s University in Temple City, Bhubaneswar, at 5 PM on both days.

This concert will be devoted to Guru, the late Suramani Bauri Bandhu Sethi, an accomplished Odisha sitar maestro. He was also a scholar, a graded artist at AIR Cuttack, the head of the Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalaya department, and a guru. Since 1972, he has had multiple students in India as a blind artist.

North Indian classical music will be played during the two days of the aforementioned planned musical evening festival. The festival’s highlights will include the students of Suramani Bauri Bandhu Sethi and distinguished North Indian classical artists from Odisha, Delhi, Kolkata, and Mumbai. Swaranjali’s mission is to uplift and enrich Indian classical music, its upcoming musicians, and Odisha’s art enthusiasts.

Prof. Aparajita Chowdhury, Smt. Shyamali Mohapatra, Manoranjan Nayak, and Dr. K C Jena have graciously accepted the invitation to be honorary guests for this two-day event. The festival is being supported by SSEPD, the Odisha government, and Rama Devi Women’s University
