Monoshij Organises Emotion Management Workshop For Underprivileged Children

Kolkata, May 2022: Monoshij, the mental health platform of Techno India Group, organised an on the house workshop aimed at enhancing emotion management skills of children (10 to 15 years) of Seva, a non profit organisation based in Kaikhali, as a part of its outreach program.

When the world is working in a hybrid manner there are rising trends of temper tantrums and low frustration tolerance noticed amongst school going children. Hence, it is essential to understand how to equip them to better manage their emotions, particularly anger and not merely control it but counteract it – knowing how to blow up the steam and avoiding build-up.

The session was conducted with hands on experiences – with identifying, brainstorming, role playing situations around the theme of effectively managing anger using adaptive mechanisms. The session aimed at bringing awareness into the day-to-day transactions of how we behave, identifying our trigger zones when we face certain issues be it in our personal, social or academic domain and ways to resolve it, and also highlighting the antidote to dissatisfaction – gratitude.

“Mental health needs more sunlight, more frankness and more unashamed conversations to begin with. We have sketched out this workshop for the school children on anger management as there are rising trends of temper tantrums and low frustration tolerances amongst the children these days. Monoshij is looking forward to various contribution of mental wellbeing of the society and to cater to the needs of the people. Self-care is not self-indulgence it is self-preservation. So let us come ahead and join hands for a healthy relation of the mind. We are delighted to host this workshop with Seva for carrying forward our endeavours in having a larger social impact”, said Prof. Manoshi Roychowdhury, Founder of Monoshij & Co Chair-Person, Techno India Group.

The Monoshij platform is designed to adequately address the various issues of our community. Monoshij works around a combined axis of needs, whom it is catering to. Communities have a key role in bringing about behavioural changes, in improving connections between need and availability and in encouraging easy access to help.
