Greater Noida, Dec 23 For Nalinish Ranjan, a B.Tech Computer Science student (2023–2027) at Galgotias University, learning chemistry was never about lack of effort—it was about information overload. Dense textbooks, cluttered apps, and distracting resources made memorising the periodic table harder than it needed to be. That challenge sparked the creation of Elementum, a clean, intuitive learning app that simplifies how students understand and revise chemistry fundamentals.
Developed at Galgotias University’s iOS Development Center, Elementum was created as part of Nalinish’s Swift Student Challenge (2025) winning project and is now live on the Apple App Store, marking a significant achievement for both the student and the university.
Born From a Student’s Struggle, Built for Clarity
Elementum was born out of a deeply personal learning experience. Like many students, Nalinish struggled to memorise elements, groups, and properties—not because the concepts were difficult, but because the resources were overwhelming. “I needed something that could give me the right information at the right moment—nothing extra, nothing distracting,” he shares. That insight became the foundation of Elementum.
Designed with focus, empathy, and precision, the app presents the periodic table in a clean, distraction-free interface, allowing students to quickly recall key properties of elements exactly where they appear. Every design choice was guided by a single question: What does a student truly need to remember?
Turning Memorisation into Meaningful Learning
One of Elementum’s standout features is “Combine”, an interactive tool that enables students to practice basic element combinations. By shifting learning from passive memorisation to active engagement, the feature strengthens conceptual understanding and makes revision more effective. Built with an offline-first approach, Elementum ensures uninterrupted learning anytime, anywhere—making it a reliable companion during last-minute revisions and daily study sessions alike.

Elementum was developed under the guidance of Galgotias University’s iOS Development Center, where students receive hands-on exposure, structured mentoring, and real-world app development experience. The center plays a crucial role in nurturing ideas that solve real problems through technology.
