Empowering Joy and Education: Walplast’s Successful CSR Event in Varanasi

Varanasi, December 18, 2023: Walplast, in collaboration with Project Nanhi Kali through its corporate social responsibility (CSR) arm, Walplast Welfare Foundation, recently concluded a successful event in Varanasi on December 12, 2023. Over 30 Nanhi Kalis (young girls) from the fifth grade gathered with community associates, Walplast employees and their Channel Partners to spend the day on celebrations and learning.

The activities planned for the day aimed not only at entertainment but also at creating lasting memories and a positive impact. Engaging games, captivating story-telling, an entertaining short movie, a challenging quiz and thoughtful gifts for the students, along with refreshing snacks, were part of the event. Notably, the event was held in a community venue, providing attendees the opportunity to witness the direct impact of such initiatives on the young kids and the community.

Key highlights included engaging activities, active participation from the employees and Channel Partners’ and a meaningful school visit, allowing interaction with the students in their learning environment.

Walplast, a manufacturer of building construction materials, has consistently acknowledged the integral link between business success and social responsibility. Through this partnership, Walplast Welfare Foundation supports the education of over 816 young girls, encompassing both primary and secondary education, until March 31, 2024. These girls hail from Palghar (Maharashtra), Bharuch (Gujarat), Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh), and Nashik (Maharashtra), representing a significant stride towards empowering underprivileged children with the tools they need to succeed.

Project Nanhi Kali, established by Anand Mahindra in 1996, has been dedicated to providing comprehensive support to economically and socially disadvantaged girls enrolled in government schools across India. Over the past two decades, this project has positively impacted the lives of more than 550,000 girls, across 15 states of India.
