Centre for Transdisciplinary Research (Cftr)
Chennai, 6, th October 2022: Researchers in CFTR are involved in various interdisciplinary research at Gold lab of Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences, Chennai. Researchers are specialists in computational biology, cell culture, animal studies, nanotechnology, oncology, pharmacognosy, toxicology, and microbial studies including antimicrobial resistance.
We have scientists who are also involved in biocompatible, wound healing, and surgical bone defect studies in small animals. Researchers are also specialists in carrying out pharmacological and toxicological studies using cell culture and animal models.
Researchers at CFTR are also experts in the synthesis of nanoparticles, nanocomposites, and nanoformulations using herbal and bioactive compounds. They study biomedical applications of nano drugs and develop nano-based dental products such as mouthwash, toothpaste, dental varnish, paint, and nanoformulation gels.
We also have a zebrafish model to carry out the studies related to tissue regeneration and toxicology. We have a stem cell bank and facility to carry out the research in stem cells isolated from periodontal ligament, dental pulp, etc.
Researchers are also involved in the evaluation of therapeutic efficacy of phytocompounds and small molecules animal models. We also have Zeiss advanced microscope, qPCR, ELISA, Western blotting, auto analyser, and other facilities to carry out the molecular studies.
