Offers Support to 44 Women to Launch Self-Employment Ventures

Kochi, Jan 16: V-Guard Industries Ltd., as part of its CSR initiatives, successfully concluded the first phase of the ‘NARI SHAKTHI’ project at the Sahrudaya Auditorium on January 15th. The event also marked the inauguration of the project’s second phase by Adv. V.K. Minimol, Kochi Mayor. The CSR initiative was designed to promote economic self-reliance among 100 women, including widows and single mothers, by supporting their journey towards self-employment and sustainable livelihoods.
Implemented in collaboration with Sahrudaya Welfare Services, the first phase provided 150 hours of intensive training in tailoring and beautician services. Certificates were awarded to all women who successfully completed the programme. To encourage them to begin their own micro-enterprises, essential equipment including sewing machines and beautician kits were presented to 44 outstanding performers by Dr.Reenaa Mithun Chittilappilly, Director, V-Guard Foundation.
The second phase will offer free baking courses to 20 widows and single mothers, equipping them with practical skills to build sustainable income avenues and establish home-based ventures.
“NARI SHAKTHI has helped our sisters to walk hand in hand with the V-Guard Foundation. It is our duty to help and encourage more people in society to move forward. I hope these participants will spread their wings and go on to support many others,” said Adv. V. K. Minimol, Mayor of Kochi, while inaugurating the event.
“We are immensely happy to have successfully completed the first phase of the NARI SHAKTHI project. We have been able to create meaningful changes in the lives of the participants. Watching their confidence grow and seeing them take their first steps towards financial independence inspired us to launch the second phase,” said Dr Reenaa Mithun Chittilappilly, Director, V-Guard Foundation.
