The Era of Enterprise AI in India is Here with Snowflake AI Data Cloud Leading the Charge
Snowflake, the AI Data Cloud company, made waves at the Bengaluru edition of the Snowflake World Tour, emphasizing the transformative role of AI and data in shaping India’s enterprise landscape. With insights from Vijayant Rai, Managing Director- India, Snowflake, the event spotlighted how the convergence of AI and data is empowering businesses across India, driving efficiency, innovation, and success.
At the heart of the event was Snowflake’s commitment to simplifying AI and data operations for Indian enterprises. “There is no AI strategy without a data strategy,” Rai noted during his keynote, stressing the critical role of a well-structured data framework in AI success. Snowflake’s AI Data Cloud has been pivotal in enabling businesses to harness data-driven insights, reduce operational costs, and enhance customer experiences across sectors like BFSI, telecommunications, retail, and logistics.
The message was clear: Snowflake is not just an IT tool; it empowers every corner of the enterprise, providing a unified platform that simplifies complexity, enhances cost-efficiency, and makes AI implementation easy and trusted. Snowflake’s philosophy—”We give you the car, not the parts”—resonated throughout the event, highlighting its holistic approach to enterprise AI.
Success Stories: How Indian Enterprises are Benefiting
Several Indian enterprises are already leveraging Snowflake’s AI Data Cloud to unlock new possibilities. Razorpay’s recently launched DataSync is built on Snowflake AI Data Cloud. DataSync will help businesses securely and easily integrate their financial and business data on Razorpay. This will enable businesses to leverage their data for deeper business intelligence, enhanced financial reporting, improved fraud & security monitoring, and generate new revenue ideas, turning payment data into a profit center. Swiggy, a leading food delivery service, reported a 3.7x increase in daily queries, a 20% faster data processing speed, and a 1.8x reduction in operational costs. Similarly, Urban Company has seen a tenfold improvement in operational efficiency through its collaboration with Snowflake. Queries that would originally take more than 20 minutes now return results in less than 2 minutes, enabling faster and more efficient business decisions.
These stories are not isolated. With over 10,000 global customers and more than 10,000 global partners handling 5 billion jobs daily, Snowflake’s AI Data Cloud is being used across industries to power advanced analytics, predictive insights, and personalised customer experiences.
Prioritising Security and Compliance in a Growing Regulatory Environment
As AI and data evolve, security and compliance are key concerns, especially in India’s dynamic regulatory landscape. With the rapid adoption of generative AI (gen AI) and large language models (LLMs), organizations must unlock value while ensuring data protection and compliance. Snowflake Horizon empowers them with unified compliance, security, privacy, interoperability, and access capabilities for data, apps, and models in the AI Data Cloud, including Iceberg tables. Its integrated platform provides businesses with robust security and ensures compliance with India’s data privacy regulations, allowing confident innovation in a secure environment.
Looking Ahead: GenAI, Cortex AI, and Arctic
Snowflake’s focus on innovation is highlighted by its investments in Generative AI (GenAI) and the launch of Cortex AI, a fully managed service that democratizes AI for all employees, regardless of technical skills. Cortex provides access to top-tier large language models (LLMs), allowing users to build and deploy AI-driven applications with ease. It brings AI directly to governed data, ensuring swift access and governance extension to models. Additionally, Snowflake Arctic stands out as an enterprise-grade LLM optimized for complex workloads, excelling in areas such as SQL code generation and instruction following.
Data-Driven Innovation and Recognition
The event also celebrated the Snowflake Data Driver Awards, which recognised innovative enterprises that have made significant strides in data-driven decision-making. Piramal Finance received the Data Driver of the Year award, Arghya Sarkar, Director of Data and Analytics at Porter, received the Data Hero of the Year Award, Bidgely was honored with the Data for Good Award, and Toplyne was recognized with the Powered by Snowflake Award.
Rai concluded the event by reiterating Snowflake’s vision for the future of AI and data in India: “We are on a mission to make data work for enterprises, empowering them with easy, efficient, and trusted AI solutions. The era of enterprise AI in India has begun, and Snowflake is proud to be at the forefront of this revolution.”
