Texmaco Rail & Engineering: Milestone in Subansiri Lower HE Project, Arunachal Pradesh and AssamKolkata, 29th April 2024: Texmaco Rail & Engineering Ltd., one of the leading organisations in the engineering and infrastructure sector, proudly announced a significant advancement in the 2000 MW Subansiri Lower HE Project. Spillway Radial Gate Nos. 7, 8 & 9, along with sealing arrangements, were successfully completed on 25th April 2024, ahead of schedule despite challenging working conditions.

The Subansiri Lower HE Project, owned by NHPC Ltd., stands as India’s largest hydroelectric project till date. Situated in the picturesque landscapes of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam, this project underscores Texmaco‘s commitment to excellence in infrastructure development and sustainable energy solutions.

Upon completion, the Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric Project is poised to generate approximately 7,500 million kilowatt-hours of power annually, contributing significantly to the nation’s renewable energy goals.

Key features of the Hydro-mechanical works of the dam include:

– Nine radial gates, each equipped with a 2x400T capacity hydraulic operating mechanism.

– Bulkhead gates supported by the highest capacity Gantry Crane of 250MT.

– Trash racks and eight Intake Service and Emergency Gates with advanced operating mechanisms.

– Eight vertical circular pressure shafts, ranging from 195m to 215m in length, installed vertically at a depth of 48m.

– A tail race channel measuring 206m in width and 35m in length, featuring 24 Draft Tube Gates with operating mechanisms.

– Automated control through a sophisticated SCADA and ARMAC system.
