Pioneering Green Energy: Guru Nanak Institutions Partners with Solaris Energy Solutions
Hyderabad, 28th November 2024: Guru Nanak Institutions (GNI) marked a momentous milestone on its Founder’s Day by laying the foundation for a cutting-edge 400 kWp solar power plant in collaboration with M/s Solaris Energy Solutions Pvt. Ltd. (SESPL); at the Guru Nanak Institutions campus, today. This significant initiative commemorates the 74th birth anniversary of Late Sardar Tavleen Kohli, the visionary former Chairman of GNI. Scheduled for commissioning in January 2025, this flagship solar project will generate an impressive 55,400 units of clean energy annually, offsetting 600 tonnes of carbon emissions each year.

The 400 kWp solar power plant, is getting established in collaboration with Solaris Energy Solutions Pvt. Ltd., is a shining example of Guru Nanak Institutions’ unwavering commitment to sustainability and innovation. This ambitious project not only reflects GNI’s forward-thinking vision but also sets a benchmark in adopting clean, renewable energy solutions, says Shri Gagan Kohli, Vice Chairman, Guru Nanak Institutions.
Under the OpEx (Operational Expenditure) model, GNI will lend its roof on rent to Solaris Energy Solutions Pvt. Ltd. SESPL will shoulder the entire investment for the solar power project. In return, SESPL will supply power to the Guru Nanak Institutions, at an agreed rate per unit for a duration of 15 years.
A unique feature of this agreement is the seamless transfer of the solar plant ownership to GNI at the end of the 15-year term. Throughout this period, SESPL will also manage the complete maintenance of the plant, ensuring optimal performance and hassle-free operations for GNI. This sustainable partnership underscores a commitment to energy efficiency and long-term value creation.
