Petex, Kids Fair, and Carnival to Drive Excitement at Hitex from January 31st
Hyderabad, January 27, 2025: Three interesting expos–India’s largest Pet Expo-Petex; Kids Fair and a maiden Kids Business Carnival to be held at Hitex Madhapur from January 31st to 2nd February for three days.
Addressing a press conference on Friday at Hitex, Mr. TG Srikanth, Business Head, Hitex said Petex, India’s premier pet trade fair will run along with Kids Fair and Kids Business Carnival. Supported by Carniwel, Petex will have 60-plus exhibitors. Some of the exhibitors are from different countries such as Turkey, Czech Republic, Japan, Singapore, and Germany. It will bring together pet parents, pet lovers and enthusiasts.
The visitors can expect 70-plus varieties of ornamental fish on display, Horses, Birds, the International Cat Championship, Fashion Show of Dogs, Agility & Obedience Demonstrations by K9 School, and Free Basic Grooming for Dogs by Scoopy Scrub, Srikanth added
The Cat Championship will be organised by the Indian Cat Club. It will feature 200-plus varieties of cats. Some of them will be rare breeds including Mainecoon (considered the largest-sized domesticated cat in the world). They have very long ears and bodies with thick heavy coats. They are priced in the range of Rs 1.1 lakh to 2 lakhs. Another rare breed is British short hair. This breed is a growing breed in India. These breeds are short and thick-haired cats with unique full cheeks. Most of them are blue with copper-coloured eyes. They are priced in the range of Rs 80,000 to Rs 1.5 lakh.
Akshayakalpa Organic supports the 17th Edition of the Kids Expo and will have over 60 exhibitors. It features products and services related to kids, careers, personality development and activities.
First time a Kids Business Carnival is being organised on February 1st and 2nd. It will be supported by Meru International School. It will showcase the entrepreneurial spirit of children. It will have business plan competition, product display etc. The interesting creations and inventions of children’s products and services such as a card game on electronics; DIY (Do It Yourself) Robotic Projects, Pebble Art and Games; Magnetic Bookmarks; Books Authored by Students (Authorpreneur); Handmade Coconut shell products will participate and showcase their products. 90 kidpreneurs are expected to participate.
Kids run will be organised in three different run categories such as 4K, 2K and 1K. It will be conducted by Gigglemug on 1st February at 5 pm. Over 1000 kids aged between 3 to 13 years will participate.
The 6th edition of the Masqati India Bake Show will be held on all three days. It will be organised by www.homebakers.co.in. The winner of the show will walk away with Rs 1.4 lakh prize money.
Over 25000 footfalls are expected. The entry ticket is Rs 399/- if booked in advance before 31st January and later it will cost Rs 449/-. Tickets can be booked online through bookmyshow.com and PayTm Insider.
An investor meeting will be held on day one. Five investors with a good amount of portfolio are expected to participate and explore investable projects and investments during the show. These angel investors include Mr Kuldeep Mirani, Co-founder and CEO of Beyond Seed; Mr Rameswar Misra, Co-founder and CEO of Bigphi Technologies; Dr Madhurita Gupta, Founder & CEO of Goa Angel Network and Mr Ramakrishna from Growel Feeds.
Exhibitors from 12 states and five countries will exhibit their products and services. 2500 business visitors are pre-registered to attend the Petex.
The three shows are being organised with the support of many organisations such as Manchester Global School, Sabala Millets, Rainbow Hospitals and others.
Addressing the press conference TG Srikanth said the Pet Care industry is in a nascent stage and is steadily progressing. Pet adoption is also gradually growing. Pet adoption is ten times higher in Western countries than in India. Germany is the second topmost country in terms of adoption of pets. Pet adoption is considered therapy. Research also shows that pet ownership is associated with lower anxiety levels, he said.
Ms Anushka Potay who founded an NGO called Adoptions of Hyderabad will drive dog and cat adoption during the show.
Archana Pai, Communication and Strategy Manager of Meru International which is conducting the Kids Business Carnival said the aim of it is to produce future-ready kids.
Mr JS Rama Krishna, Business Head of Growel Feeds said pet parents normally lead an easy life. Kids who grow up with pets will be more responsible. Pets teach a lot of discipline. One of the best things about having a pet is the chance it gives us to teach kids responsibility, he added
Mr Anthony Wright of Manchester Global School said their first-of-its-kind school will have a Space Lab, Sky Observatory and South India’s biggest School Library.
