NBQP-QCI and FTCCI Organize Awareness Program on ZED Certification and QCI’s Board Benefits

NBQP-QCI and FTCCI Collaborate to Educate on ZED Certification and QCI ActivitiesHyderabad, January 30, 2025:  In a late evening function held on Thursday, The Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI) organized an Awareness Program on “ZED Certification & ”QCI boards, divisions activities, and benefits” at its premises in Red Hills

Speakers Mr. C. Venugopal, Advisor, NBQP, and Mr. Arif Ahmad, ZED Certified QCI expert spoke on the various aspects of the certification in the presence of FTCCI Vice President KK Maheshwari and

Sri Srinivas Garimella, Chairman of the Industrial Development Committe,e and T. Sujatha, CEO, FTCCI.

The program was organized in collaboration with NBQP(National Board for Quality Promotion), and the Quality Council of India (QCI) as part of the QCI Gunvatta Yatra

‘Gunvatta yatra’ is an initiative for creating awareness about QCI boards, divisions activities and benefits”.

Giving his opening remarks, KK Maheshwari said The ZED (Zero Defect Zero Effect) Certification Scheme is a vital initiative by the Government of India aimed at enabling MSMEs to adopt world-class practices while maintaining sustainability. It promotes quality excellence, enhances market competitiveness, and ensures environmentally responsible growth.

Similarly, QCI is crucial for building confidence in quality services across industries, particularly in healthcare, manufacturing, and other critical sectors. It ensures that laboratories meet international standards, fostering trust and credibility.

KK Maheshwari further added that the program was designed to provide participants with insights into the benefits, processes, and requirements of these certifications. The knowledge shared here will help businesses, especially MSMEs, enhance their operations, achieve quality benchmarks, and contribute to overall industrial growth.

KK Maheshwari thanked partners at QCI and the NBQP for their support in making the event possible.

Shri Venugopal C, Advisor, NBQP-QCI spoke on “QCI boards and divisions activities such as accreditation, certifications, various schemes towards a quality ecosystem in the Country and vision of Viksit Bharat and Quality Bharat.

Shri. Arif Ahmed, a QCI empanelled expert gave insight into the ZED certification & LEAN scheme and its benefits to the Manufacturing industry.

He explained the Key Features of the MSME Lean Scheme such as the implementation of Lean Manufacturing Practices; and the adoption of globally recognized techniques such as 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Just-in-Time, and Six Sigma.

Shri. Venugopal C emphasised the need for Quality in every sphere of life. At the end of his presentation, he administered the Quality Bharat Pledge taken by all participants.

The Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India, has launched the ZED (Zero Effect Zero Defect) Certification Scheme to enhance the quality, sustainability, and efficiency of Indian MSMEs.

This initiative was aimed to empower MSMEs by encouraging high-quality, defect-free manufacturing while minimizing environmental impact. The schemes promote energy efficiency, waste reduction, and resource optimization, helping MSMEs achieve global competitiveness.

Srinivas Garimella stressed the need for a Quality ecosystem in the Country.

45 professionals from various sectors including industries, manufacturers, testing laboratories and other interested parties participated in the interactive session.
