Chennai, August 26, 2023: Indian Overseas Bank, a prominent player in the banking sector, successfully hosted the Atal Pension Yojana (APY) Outreach Programme in collaboration with the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA). The event took place in Chennai District on August 25, 2023, at Vani Mahal, Chennai, with robust participation from esteemed officials and institutions.
The distinguished line up of participants included Shri. Pravesh Kumar, Chief General Manager of PFRDA, who graced the occasion with his presence. The event also welcomed Shri. Mohan M, Convenor of SLBC-TN & General Manager of Indian Overseas Bank, representatives from RBI and NABARD, as well as various State Government officials, contributed to the significance of the gathering.
The program was marked by the enthusiastic involvement of various banks operating in Chennai District, as they actively facilitated the enrolment of individuals into the 4832 APY. Moreover, the event served as a platform for the enrolment of individuals into the 6470 PMJJBY (Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana) and 37817 PMSBY (Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana) schemes, highlighting the comprehensive approach towards social security.
During the event, PFRDA conducted an enlightening presentation on the APY scheme, aimed at empowering the general public with knowledge about the benefits and provisions of the scheme. This step aligned with the broader goal of financial inclusion and awareness.
The culmination of the event saw the felicitation of the best-performing banks and institutions, acknowledging their remarkable contributions to the success of the programs. Among those honored were Indian Overseas Bank, Indian Bank, Canara Bank, State Bank of India, Bank of India, Central Bank of India, Tamilnad Mercantile Bank, and Tamilnadu Grama Bank, along with Business Correspondents who played a pivotal role.
