Dibber – Northern Europe’s largest early education group is now in New Delhi, plans nationwide expansion

Dibber - Northern Europe’s largest early education group is now in New Delhi, plans nationwide expansion 22nd March 2024: Dibber, Northern Europe’s largest education group with more than 600 preschools and schools in 10 countries, is now opening their first preschool in New Delhi. It is the seventh Dibber center in India under a year, after launching successfully in Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Pune.

The group plans to open 40 more by the end of 2024 across India. Situated in Greater Kailash, New Delhi, the preschool was inaugurated by H.E. Ms. May-Elin Stener, Ambassador of Norway to India, Marvin Dsouza, CEO Dibber Schools, India and Mr. Pål Ødegaard, Chief Growth Officer, Dibber Global.

Dibber offers the well-established Nordic pedagogy, focused on social, emotional, physical and cognitive development of children between the ages of 1 to 6 years. Dibber’s purpose is to “develop lifelong learners with a heart for the world” and part of that is – having a heart for oneself and others. Dibber’s Nordic-inspired pedagogy is locally adapted and infuses India’s rich cultural heritage and ethos, ensuring a holistic child-centered approach that is culturally relevant and globally competitive.

The Group was founded by two passionate pedagogues Randi and Hans Jacob Sundby in 2003. They developed “The Dibber Childhood”TM, a well-researched and continuously enhanced pedagogical framework that supports children’s well-being, development and learning. At Dibber, each child is seen as unique, valuable and benefits from an individually tailored learning experience.

Spread across an area of 7,500 sqft, Dibber preschool in Greater Kailash 1, can welcome more than 100 children. The center offers natural open spaces, extensive outdoor areas, a splash pool, a children’s experiential kitchen where their sense of mastery is fostered by Dibber’s passionate pedagogues. The preschool also comes with dedicated rooms for Dibber’s unique pedagogical ‘Learning Friends’ and offers a range of extra-curricular activities such as art, drama, music and movement and second language learning. At Dibber Greater Kailash, children can be enrolled for both full-day and half-day programs designed to provide a holistic environment where learning and nurturing are a priority.

Speaking at the inauguration, H.E. Ms. May-Elin Stener, Ambassador of Norway to India said, “I am happy to see that Dibber, a Norwegian business entity that entered India in 2023 is flourishing here, showcasing for other Norwegian businesses that India is an excellent market to explore. Dibber already has 7 centres in India, and I hope to see more coming soon. As many of you would be aware, Norway, as a part of the European Free Trade Association, recently signed a free trade agreement with India, that opens doors for more Norwegian businesses to enter the Indian market. So, we look forward to greater and stronger business ties with India in the near future.”

Mr. Marvin D´Souza adds: ” At Dibber, we believe that India’s children are the global influencers of the future. With a focus on holistic development and personalized learning, we aim to nurture their curiosity, creativity, communication, and confidence, preparing them to be global citizens and make a positive impact on society. We have established a solid foundation in many Indian cities and spreading our wings to North India is naturally the next step in our expansion plan. Aligned with National Education Policy (NEP), Dibber is committed to providing quality education, ensuring seamless acceptance of its schools in India. Dibber resonates with the dynamism of Delhi’s culture, and we are sure that young parents in this progressive city will truly benefit of Dibber’s outstanding offerings. Join us as we shape the future of India, one child at a time.”

To maximize Dibber’s pan-India expansion plans, the Group is seeking to attract meaningful partnerships, notably through its franchise model, for those who share its vision of early childhood education. Known for its high-quality standards, Dibber ensures strict implementation of its quality framework across all its centers.

Coming from Oslo, Norway to support the launch of Dibber Greater Kailash, Mr. Pål Ødegaard, Chief Growth Officer from Dibber Global, said, It is with great enthusiasm that we embark on our journey to North India by establishing our first preschool in New Delhi. At the heart of Dibber’s approach, is the carefully crafted Dibber Childhood framework, developed by pedagogues drawing on best practices in Nordic pedagogy and the collective experience of ten countries. We are excited to introduce our renowned educational standards and nurturing environment that fosters a love of learning that transcends borders to children and families in New Delhi. Launching the franchise model, Dibber invites partners to join the Dibber Family.

Admissions are open at Dibber for children in the ages of 1 to 6 years for half day and full day programs. For more details,
