New Delhi, Aug 31: As part of Film Expo India 2026, the Polish Institute, in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in New Delhi, hosted a special conversation with H.E. Dr. Piotr Antoni Świtalski, Head of Mission of the Republic of Poland in India, focusing on the role of cinema, culture and creative collaboration in strengthening India–Poland relations.
The engaging conversation explored the immense potential of cinema as a platform for cultural dialogue and a catalyst for deeper engagement between the creative communities of the two countries. It brought into focus opportunities for filmmakers, cinematographers, artists and storytellers from India and Poland to connect, collaborate and develop new avenues of professional and cultural exchange.
The discussion also highlighted the possibilities of film co-productions, professional exchanges, institutional partnerships and greater visibility for Indian and Polish cinema in each other’s countries. With cinema transcending linguistic and geographical boundaries, the conversation underlined its unique ability to foster mutual understanding and bring people and cultures closer together.
India and Poland share a long and rich history of cultural engagement, and cinema has emerged as an important contemporary dimension of this relationship. From the enduring appreciation of Polish masters among Indian cinephiles to growing interest in Indian cinema in Poland, the cinematic dialogue between the two countries offers considerable scope for further expansion.
