Bengaluru, December 23rd, 2024: The Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE), the country’s only Engineering Academy, has inducted Bhavish Aggarwal, Founder, Ola, as its Fellow at its Annual Convention held at IIT-Delhi on Friday. The INAE Council elected Bhavish in recognition of his engineering contributions and leadership in the domain.
INAE brings together specialists from relevant interdisciplinary engineering fields to promote the advancement of engineering and technology and their applications to solve problems of national importance. INAE also represents India as one of the 33 Member-Academies from across the world in the International Council of Academies of Engineering and Technological Sciences (CAETS).
The academy comprises the country’s most distinguished engineering professionals from academia, industry, R&D organisations and strategic sectors covering the entire spectrum of engineering disciplines. Some of the eminent Fellows of INAE include Ratan N Tata, Azim H Premji, Satya Nadella, NR Narayana Murthy, Nandan M Nilekani, Sundar Pichai, S Somanath, and Mukesh D Ambani.
Bhavish Aggarwal, a computer science graduate of the IIT-Bombay, is the founder of Ola Consumer, Ola Electric, and कृत्रिम. He founded his ride-hailing company Ola Cabs in 2010, which has now been rebranded as Ola Consumer with a bouquet of additional services, including finance, commerce, and delivery solutions. He then started Ola Electric in 2017 and led the company to become India’s largest pure-play EV 2W company. In April 2023, Bhavish started his AI venture, कृत्रिम, focused on creating the AI computing stack of the future, comprising AI computing infrastructure, AI Cloud, foundational models, and AI-powered end applications for the Indian market.
