Bhubaneswar, April 25, 2025: Housing and Urban Development Minister Krushna Chandra Mohapatra underscored the critical role of affordable housing in eradicating slums and ensuring dignified living for all citizens of Bhubaneswar. Speaking at the inauguration of a major real estate and housing expo organized by CREDAI Odisha, the Minister highlighted the proactive steps being taken by the State Government to make housing more accessible for slum dwellers.
“Affordable housing is the key to building a slum-free Bhubaneswar. We are committed to ensuring that every citizen has access to safe and sustainable shelter,” said Mohapatra, adding that government initiatives are aligned with the goal of inclusive urban development.
Cuttack MLA Sofia Firdous, who graced the occasion as the guest of the evening, praised CREDAI Odisha for hosting the grand event. “This expo will create valuable job opportunities for the local population and significantly contribute to the state’s economy,” she said.
Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari also graced the occasion.
Scheduled from April 20 to 29, 2025, the nine-day expo is a dynamic platform that brings together a wide range of stakeholders — including leading builders, banks, building material manufacturers, electronics firms, interior designers, and tile manufacturers.
The event is designed to cater to aspiring homeowners, real estate investors, architects, and design professionals. Attendees can explore the latest in smart home technologies, eco-friendly construction materials, and future-ready lifestyle innovations. Additionally, the expo will feature interactive sessions, expert panels, and discussions on current trends in urban housing, design, and infrastructure.
