New Delhi, 9 Sep 2024: Ashish Jha ‘Koilakhyia’, a veteran litterateur and editor, has been appointed as the Joint Secretary of the Mithilalok Foundation to further the cause and achieve the goals and objectives of this internationally recognised organisation dedicated to social, cultural, and economic development, according to Dr. Birbal Jha, Foundation’s Chairman, noted author and social entrepreneur.

Under the joint secretaryship of Ashish Jha ‘Koilakhyia’, the Mithilalok Foundation is expected to initiate new programs like start-up support, social inclusion for people with disabilities, art and culture preservation projects, nutritional education and food security programs, and skill-based volunteerism.
Ashish Jha ‘Koilakhyia’ hails from village Koilakh. Nestled in Bihar’s Madhubani district, the village stands out not just for its scenic beauty but as a hub of intellectuals. It has earned the unique distinction of being called the “Village of Scholars,” where one out of every four individuals is a government official, scientist, or IAS-IPS officer.
Mithilalok Foundation has earned international acclaim for its ‘Save the Paag Campaign.’ This esteemed organisation has been spearheading a mass awareness campaign to revive the pride of Mithila culture among Maithils.
The Government of India issued postage on Mithila Paag in the year 2017, thanks to the initiative of the Mithila Lok Foundation under the chairmanship of Dr. Birbal Jha, the celebrity author, cultural activist and Bihar’s top social entrepreneur.
Mithilalok Foundation is likely to hold an international congregation of people from the Mithila community settled all across the world.
The foundation will run a variety of activities, including skills training, awareness, environmental conservation, and community development.
Koilakh has such fecund soil that has given birth to luminaries like Pandit Harinath Misra, Dr Bhavnath Misra, Pandit Jaydev Misra, Dr. Mohan Misra, Mihir Kumar Jha, Sudheer Kumar Jha, Narendra Jha, Ajit Kumar Jha, Umanath Jha, Birendra Narayan Jha, and several others.
Mithilalok Foundation will shortly launch a social connect program to bring Maithils living abroad on one platform.
