Bangalore, 15 November 2022: Ujjval World School, a leading school in Whitefield, organized ‘UDAAN’, the interschool competition. This year’s theme was ‘Gyan Vigyan’, with the aim of sparking students’ interest in Science.

The competition witnessed encouraging participation from 102 students from 12 schools from different parts of the city. The school with the maximum number of winners was awarded the ‘Udaan’ rolling trophy and a Motorola Tab; each participant was also presented with a participation certificate for showcasing their skills/projects.

The yearly event was, for the first time, organized on the Ujjval School campus post-Covid-19 pandemic. Students from Nursery to class 10 participated in different groups and exhibited projects under various themes such as “Our Universe”,“Forensic Science”,” Mysteries of Chemistry,” Innovations in Medical Science,” “Robotics,” “Nanotechnology,” Space Research & Rocketry,” / Space Travel etc. Participants performed the experiments using scientific methods and created a free-standing display to show the research, hypotheses, and conclusions for the topic chosen. Each winning team presented their projects on the stage for all to see. The final winners were selected by three esteemed judges: Professor Mohan – Group Director, ISRO (retired), EMIRITUS Professor, VIT (retired), Professor Srinivas Y.C – M.Sc. Physics, and Professor Vijaya Thalapatadur, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics, Gopalan College of Engineering and Management.

Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Ragini Sharma, Principal,Ujjval World School said, “Science is hands-on by nature, and there is no doubt that hands-on experiences facilitate the learning process. Our Gyan Vigyan provided a mechanism for students with an intense interest in science to demonstrate their knowledge and talent on a larger platform. We are thrilled by the remarkable projects displayed by the children, which have been a reflection of the immense potential that they harbour for their future endeavours.”

Udaan is an annual inter-school competition organized by Ujjval World School. Apart from Udaan, the school holds various other competitions focusing on enhancing the overall personality of the students.
