Feb 01st: As part of Road Safety Month observed from 1st to 31st January 2026, Wockhardt Hospitals, Mira Road organised a month-long road safety awareness campaign in collaboration with the Kashimira Traffic Police. The initiative, conducted under the hospital’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, aimed to promote traffic discipline and encourage safer road behavior among commuters.
The campaign saw the distribution of 250 helmets to two-wheeler riders across major traffic junctions in the Mira Road and Kashimira areas. Along with helmet distribution, riders were educated on the importance of following traffic rules, wearing protective gear, and understanding the long-term health impact of road accidents.
Doctors and staff from Wockhardt Hospitals actively engaged with bikers and pedestrians, sharing real-life insights from emergency and trauma care. The interaction helped underline how neglecting basic safety measures often leads to severe head injuries and avoidable loss of life.
The initiative received strong support from the Kashimira Traffic Police. Assistant Commissioner of Police Satish Shivarkar and Inspector of Police Sagar Ingole played a key role in guiding and supporting the campaign, helping Wockhardt Hospitals execute the initiative smoothly and reach a wider section of the community. Their involvement strengthened the message of shared responsibility between healthcare providers and law enforcement in making roads safer.
Speaking about the initiative, Dr. Sushil Kumar, Centre Head, Wockhardt Hospitals, Mira Road, said, “Road safety is an essential part of preventive healthcare. Every helmet worn and every traffic rule followed can save a life. We are grateful to the Kashimira Traffic Police, especially ACP Satish Shivarkar and Inspector Sagar Ingole, for their support in helping us conduct this meaningful initiative. Together, we can reduce accidents and protect our community.”
This month-long road safety drive reflects Wockhardt Hospitals’ continued commitment to community well-being through awareness, prevention, and collaborative action. The hospital remains dedicated to promoting healthier and safer lifestyles beyond its clinical services.
