Hyderabad, Jan 13: FICCI FLO Hyderabad marked a significant milestone today with the graduation of nearly 1,000 women and girls trained under its flagship skilling initiative ‘Skill Her’, at the FLO Skill Centre in Bhongir, near Hyderabad.
The initiative focuses on equipping grassroots women with practical, income-generating skills aligned with local demand. The graduating batches included training in the following vocations: Tailoring: 3 batches, with 158 women graduating; Maggam Embroidery: 3 batches, with 122 women graduating; Beautician Course: 65 women graduating; Mehendi Design: 90 women completing training, stated a press note issued by FLO Hyderabad Chapter in the city today.

In addition, FLO Hyderabad’s Wedding Initiative directly impacted 255 grassroots women, providing hands-on training in wedding-related services and crafts. This enabled participants to earn sustainable incomes during the peak marriage season and support their families.
This community-focused skilling drive was led by Prathibha Kunda, Chairperson of FLO Hyderabad, as part of the Chapter’s broader mission to empower women with real-world skills, confidence, and dignified livelihood opportunities.
The graduation ceremony was held in the presence of Chief Guest Shri M. Hanumantha Rao, District Collector & Magistrate of Bhongir, and Special Guest Shri Akshansh Yadav, Superintendent of Police, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri District.
Addressing the gathering, Prathibha Kunda shared an emotional message:
“When a woman learns a skill, she doesn’t just change her life—she transforms her family’s future and uplifts her community. Today, as I look into the eyes of nearly 1,000 women and girls who have completed their training, I see quiet strength, untapped potential, and the promise of a more equal tomorrow. FLO Hyderabad is proud to stand with them—not just in celebration, but in solidarity.”
The atmosphere at the ceremony was one of pride and joy as graduates received their certificates—many for the first time in their lives. Several participants shared personal stories of transformation, speaking about launching home-based enterprises, contributing to household income, and discovering confidence through their newly acquired skills.
