Darbhanga, 25 April 2025 — In a charged atmosphere brimming with hope and purpose, renowned educationist, author, and social reformer Dr. Birbal Jha delivered a galvanizing address to a packed hall of students at Mahatma Gandhi Shikshan Sansthan, Darbhanga, as part of his ambitious statewide initiative ‘Viksit Bharat, Viksit Bihar’—a grassroots campaign to inspire, educate, and mobilize Bihar’s youth towards self-reliance and national development.
Carrying the momentum from his visit to Madhubani on 24 April, Dr. Jha’s message in Darbhanga was clear and compelling: the road to a developed India by 2047 runs through an awakened and empowered Bihar. Drawing from his decades-long work in youth skilling and language education, he implored the students to become architects of transformation rather than mere spectators.
“Let us not wait for change; let us be the change,” he urged the gathering.
“Viksit Bihar is not a dream—it is our resolve, our roadmap to a Viksit Bharat.”
Speaking with clarity and conviction, Dr. Jha redefined development beyond economic indices.
“A Viksit Bharat is one that is economically resilient, socially just, culturally proud, environmentally sustainable, and technologically forward—a country where every citizen enjoys dignity, opportunity, and voice.”
In a region often seen through the lens of challenges, Dr. Jha offered a different narrative—one of potential and pride.
“Education is the key, culture is the root—Bihar must grow with both to make Bharat truly developed,” he stated, reminding the youth of their rich heritage and the power of knowledge to reshape their destiny.
His address wasn’t just rhetoric—it was a continuation of his long-standing work. As the founder of British Lingua, Dr. Jha has trained over 4 lakh youths, many from underprivileged communities, instilling not just employability skills but also confidence and aspiration. His groundbreaking initiative, ‘English for Social Justice’, broke barriers in language access, while his revival of the traditional Paag and advocacy of the three-language formula reflect his holistic vision of educational and cultural inclusion.
During the interactive sessions in Darbhanga, Dr. Jha engaged directly with students on topics such as career mapping, personality development, and entrepreneurship, encouraging them to take charge of their futures with clarity, courage, and creativity. His connection with the people of Mithila—rooted in shared identity and values—was palpable, and his voice carried the urgency of a mentor who believes that the time for youth to lead is now.
As the campaign progresses, Dr. Jha is expected to brief the media on future action plans to integrate regional growth models with the national development agenda. His approach, combining local culture, modern skills, and civic responsibility, is being hailed as a refreshing and effective framework for regional revival.
In a state where youth make up over 58% of the population, his message resonates deeply: Bihar’s rise is India’s rise. Through education, pride in culture, and active participation in civic life, Bihar can evolve from being a land of promise to a land of progress.
Dr. Birbal Jha’s ongoing journey across Bihar is more than a campaign—it’s a movement of minds, a call to awaken not just Bihar but Bharat, one youth at a time.
