Mumbai- In a heartfelt and socially impactful initiative, Wockhardt Hospitals, Mira Road celebrated Father’s Day this year by reaching out to tribal school children in the village of Babelicha Baug, located in the Kashimira area near Mumbai. Moving beyond traditional celebrations, the hospital collaborated with Indian Pride Foundation — a grassroots NGO committed to uplifting underprivileged communities — to distribute school kits to 90 children, providing them with the motivation and tools they need for a strong start to the new academic year.
Each year, Wockhardt Hospitals, Mira Road observes Father’s Day by engaging with school children, emphasizing the values of nurturing, protection, and guidance that fathers stand for. In line with this tradition, the 2025 celebration focused on making a difference in the lives of children from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. The initiative aimed not just to support education but also to inspire confidence, promote inclusion, and give every child the dignity of being prepared for school.
The school kits — containing essential learning tools — go a long way in motivating children to attend school with pride. The distribution event was conducted with the active participation of hospital staff and volunteers, who interacted with the children and encouraged them to dream big and pursue education with determination.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sushil Kumar, Centre Head at Wockhardt Hospitals, Mira Road, remarked, “Father’s Day is about recognizing the nurturing role we all can play in shaping the future. Supporting these young students is one small but meaningful step in that direction. Through education, we empower families and build healthier communities.”
With this thoughtful Father’s Day celebration, Wockhardt Hospitals, Mira Road reaffirms its commitment to extending healthcare beyond hospital walls. This initiative not only reflects the hospital’s ethos of care and compassion but also strengthens its role as a trusted community health partner working toward long-term, meaningful change.
