17th June 2025: Utho Cloud, India’s leading indigenous public cloud provider, called on policymakers, industry leaders, and ecosystem stakeholders to strengthen support for India’s homegrown cloud ecosystem at the recent CII Cloud Summit 2025. Highlighting the critical role of digital sovereignty, Utho emphasized the need to invest in infrastructure that ensures secure, scalable, and locally governed cloud solutions. The Indian Cloud company reinforced its vision of building a truly self-reliant Digital Bharat powered by technology that is developed, deployed, and managed within the country.
Themed around the transformative role of cloud innovations, the Summit highlighted key pillars such as scalability, ethical AI integration with robust privacy frameworks, and the growing relevance of the Green Cloud movement, which promotes energy-efficient and environmentally conscious infrastructure practices.
With growing concerns around data privacy and national security, the importance of data sovereignty and localization has come to the forefront. During the Panel Discussion around “Data Sovereignty & Localisation: The Future of Trusted Cloud Ecosystems” at the CII Cloud Summit 2025, Mr. Manoj Dhanda, Founder & CTO of Utho Cloud, joined a distinguished panel featuring leaders from Microsoft, CtrlS & Cloud4C, NxGen Cloud & Datacenter, and Yotta Data Services. The Panel highlighted the presence of indigenous cloud service providers as essential to ensure that data is stored and processed within the country’s borders, in strict alignment with national regulations. Such localization fosters greater user trust, aligns with government mandates, and enhances control over sensitive information, particularly in sectors like finance, healthcare, and public services.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Manoj Dhanda, Founder & CTO of Utho Cloud said, “Digital sovereignty is the foundation of India’s technological progress. To achieve a truly self-reliant digital Bharat, we must stop depending on external infrastructure.
He added, “𝘊𝘭𝘰𝘶𝘥 𝘦𝘬 𝘵𝘪𝘫𝘰𝘳𝘪 𝘩𝘢𝘪 𝘫𝘢𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘩𝘶𝘮 𝘢𝘱𝘯𝘢 𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘢 𝘳𝘢𝘬𝘩𝘵𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘪, 𝘭𝘦𝘬𝘪𝘯 𝘸𝘰𝘩 𝘵𝘪𝘫𝘰𝘳𝘪 𝘩𝘶𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘪 𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘩 𝘬𝘦 𝘣𝘢𝘩𝘢𝘳 𝘩𝘢𝘪. 𝘈𝘣 𝘸𝘢𝘲𝘵 𝘢𝘢 𝘨𝘢𝘺𝘢 𝘩𝘢𝘪 𝘶𝘴 𝘵𝘪𝘫𝘰𝘳𝘪 𝘬𝘰 𝘉𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘵 𝘮𝘦𝘪𝘯 𝘸𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘴 𝘭𝘢𝘢𝘯𝘦 𝘬𝘢” – It’s time to bring back the data we have stored in foreign vaults and secure it within India’s borders, where it truly belongs. When our critical information resides outside our borders, we lose control over not just data, but also over the future of our innovation. That’s why India must take ownership of both the technology we build and the infrastructure that supports it. Choosing a homegrown cloud is not just a technical decision, it’s a strategic imperative to ensure long-term national control and digital security.”
With a full suite of cloud services and a strong commitment to data localization, the company is empowering India’s digital ecosystem with the tools it needs to scale responsibly, securely, and independently.
