Noida based recycling plant has an annual processing capacity of 6000 tons
New Delhi– 25th February 2025 –Mobec Innovation–mobec.io, India’s first full-range service provider for customisable B2B mobile EV charging solutions and energy storage systems, has announced the launch of its first state-of-the-art lithium battery recycling plant in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. With an annual processing capacity of up to 6000 tons, this facility, marks a significant step toward India’s vision for Viksit Bharat 2047, reducing dependency on imported lithium and strengthening the domestic supply chain for critical minerals.
Mobec’s expansion into battery recycling reinforces its leadership in India’s clean-tech revolution. This milestone aligns with India’s Net Zero targets and aims to accelerate the country’s clean energy transition by establishing a circular economy for battery materials. The plant will recover lithium, cobalt, nickel, graphite, copper, and manganese from end-of-life batteries, ensuring 100% material recovery with zero wastage.
Mobec’s battery recycling plant leverages advanced hydrometallurgical and mechanical extraction processes to maximize material recovery efficiency, achieving a 99% extraction rate, and thereby spearheading a sustainable future. The plant features a multi-stage processing system, including:
● Battery dismantling & separation for plastic, aluminum, and copper recovery
● First-stage black mass collection followed by advanced purification
● Hydrometallurgical extraction for lithium, cobalt, nickel, and manganese recovery

“As the nation marches toward Viksit Bharat 2047, Mobec remains committed to advancing a self-reliant, circular, and green economy. Our investment in advanced recycling technologies represents a significant step toward an energy-secure and self-sufficient India,” said Harry Bajaj, CEO, Mobec Innovation. “By reducing our dependency on imported lithium, other critical minerals and reclaiming valuable resources, we are reinforcing our commitment to green mobility, sustainability, and environmental responsibility.”
The recovered materials from Mobec’s recycling facility will cater to a diverse set of industries, including, Electric Vehicle (EV) & Battery Manufacturers – Essential materials for lithium-ion batteries, Renewable Energy Sector – Energy storage systems for solar and wind power, Consumer Electronics – Smartphones, laptops, and wearable devices, Aerospace & Defence – lightweight, high-strength components, Energy Grid Solutions, Industrial Tools & Healthcare – Power tools, medical devices, and diagnostic equipment, Emerging Battery Technologies – Next-gen batteries developed by renowned organizations, etc
By sourcing materials domestically and from the Asia-Pacific region, Mobec’s initiative supports India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat mission, reducing reliance on foreign supply chains. The plant is backed by in-house R&D capabilities, ensuring optimized recovery processes and adherence to stringent environmental regulations, including certifications from the UP-Pollution Control Board.
