Chandigarh, Feb 13: Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited India’s No.1 electric commercial vehicle manufacturer, defined a new era of last mile mobility today, unveiling its most advanced electric three-wheeler yet, the Mahindra UDO. The Mahindra UDO draws inspiration from an airplane and envisages the auto as a “autoplane”. It is a bold step forward in design, performance and comfort for last-mile mobility. The word ‘UDO’ in Hindi means ‘to fly’. The Mahindra UDO will give wings to customer’s aspirations and help them soar to greater heights in life. It is priced attractively at INR 3 84 299.00, ex-showroom, but for a limited period, the UDO will be offered for INR 3 58 999.00.

Redefining comfort and design
The traditional auto design, unchanged globally since 1948, has long neglected driver and passenger comfort. India is the largest 3W EV market in the world, and it is natural that the country’s e-auto pioneer steps in and lead the change. The revolutionary design of our new autorickshaw is poised to elevate the dignity of auto drivers, transforming their professional image and ownership experience. Mahindra’s Chief Design and Creative Officer – Auto and Farm Sectors, M&M Ltd., Pratap Bose, and his team at Mahindra India Design Studio, have reimagined the auto. The sleek design with bold headlamps, stylish mirrors, and a large windshield of the UDO creates a superior road presence.
Inside, the “autoplane” features ergonomically designed seats with driver and passenger comfort in mind. This includes a pilot seat for the driver which is nearly 20% thicker than other vehicles in the category and first-class seating for passengers. There is generous headroom & legroom fora lounge-like comfort even on longer journeys. An independent rear suspension and dual fork front suspension further enhances stability as well as ride comfort on rough roads.
With a first-in-segment full monocoque construction, Mahindra UDO boasts higher structural strength and best-in-class ride quality.
Powerful performance
Complementing the futuristic design and unparalleled comfort is the blazing performance. The Mahindra UDO delivers a best-in-class real-world range of 200 km (265 km ARAI-certified range). The UDO is the most energy-efficient vehicle in its segment. This is achieved with an IP67-rated, 11.7 kWh laser-welded Li-ion battery pack. The PMS motor helps deliver 10 kW of peak power and 52 Nm of torque. Mahindra UDO also has regenerative braking which combined with a first-in-segment reverse throttle offers seamless speed control without touching the brakes. The reverse throttle not only gives Mahindra UDO an extended range but also a smoother ride. Hill Hold Assist and Creep functions in the Mahindra UDO ensure stability on slopes and ease of driving in bumper-to-bumper traffic.
The tri-mode driving system of Range, Ride, and Race gives drivers the flexibility to switch between efficiency and performance depending on traffic conditions. The top speed of 55 km/h (in Race mode) will help drivers complete their trips faster and generate more income.
Exemplary safety
The Mahindra UDO is backed by a confidence-inspiring warranty of 1.5 Lakh km or 6 year, whichever is earlier. An IP67-rated battery, drivetrain, charger ensures that the UDO owner can continue his journey even in extreme weather conditions.
The vehicle has powerful drum brakes enabling it the least^ braking distance in the segment. The UDO also comes with 30.48 cm tubeless tyres that enhance the safety.
Mahindra’s confidence in the UDO reflects with its industry-first free services until 1 Lakh km. When the customer purchases UDO, they are enrolled into Mahindra’s UDAY NXT scheme that provides 20 Lakh accidental insurance to the vehicle owner, financial counselling and more.
With its head-turning design, segment-first features and Mahindra’s reliability, the UDO is all set to expand electrification in the L5M auto category. Mahindra UDO is built in Mahindra’s state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Zaheerabad. Mahindra has significantly invested in this plant including an all-new automated battery assembly as well as robotised production lines.
Ms. Suman Mishra, Managing Director and CEO of Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited, said,

With this launch, we are taking a decisive step in that direction.
