Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 27: Thiruvananthapuram has made significant strides in the digital empowerment of government institutions under the Kerala Fibre Optic Network (KFON) initiative. As part of the state government’s KFON project, 547 government institutions in the district have now been provided with high-speed internet connectivity.

The rollout includes reliable and uninterrupted internet services to key government establishments such as the Secretariat, Collectorate, Revenue offices, Taluk offices, educational institutions, and hospitals, enabling more efficient and streamlined administrative operations.

“KFON connects government institutions and the public through fast and reliable internet connectivity. The connections implemented in Thiruvananthapuram have enhanced the efficiency of e-governance systems and ensured that public services are delivered faster and with greater transparency,” said Dr. Santosh Babu IAS (Retd.), Managing Director, KFON.

In addition to government offices, the district has also received 5,679 FTTH connections, 2,366 BEL connections, and 867 EWS connections. This has created a robust digital ecosystem in the capital, simultaneously strengthening governance and public service delivery.
