New Delhi, 24th May 2023:- In addition to its impressive ranking, Airawat’s emergence as India’s fastest supercomputer signifies a major milestone for the country’s technological advancements. Airawat PSAI ranks 75th among the world’s top 500 supercomputers that not only elevates India’s scientific and technological standing but also opens up new opportunities for collaboration and innovation on a global scale. With its cutting-edge architecture and unparalleled computational capabilities, Airawat has the potential to revolutionize various sectors, including weather forecasting, drug discovery, climate modeling, and artificial intelligence research.

Deployed in 2023 by Netweb Technologies, Airawat PSAI, stands as India’s largest and fastest AI supercomputing system, with a remarkable speed of 13,170 teraflops (Rpeak), representing a significant leap forward in computational power. It is utilized by a Center for Development of Advance Computing (C-DAC), a prominent R&D organization under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, which focuses on research and development in various domains, including information technology, electronics, and supercomputing.

IPO bound Netweb Technologies designs, manufactures, and deploys the High-Performance Computing (HPC) solutions used in Airawat and other supercomputing systems developed under India’s National Supercomputing Mission. The company provides proprietary middleware solutions, end-user utilities, and pre-compiled application stacks for their HCS. They have also developed their own computing and storage technologies to meet the rising computational demands of businesses, academia, and research organizations.

Apart from Airawat, Netweb Technologies has built other supercomputing systems such as Agastya, PARAM Ambar, PARAM YUVA-II, and Kabru. PARAM YUVA-II, in particular, is one of India’s fastest and largest hybrid supercomputers as stated in its DRHP. Additionally, two of Netweb’s supercomputers have been listed among the world’s top 500 supercomputers multiple times, according to a report available on its website.

Among the other Indian supercomputers that features in the list includes PARAM Siddhi-AI is developed by C-DAC in collaboration with French IT consulting firm Atos, Pratyush and Mihir are developed by Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology and National Centre for Medium Range Weather Forecasting respectively.
