House of Hiranandani initiated Thane’s maiden plogging initiative on January 22. The term plogging is a combination of jogging and picking up litter while jogging.
The plogging activity took place at Upwan Lake as part of the #RunForEarth initiative. #RunForEarth initiative aims to spread the message to protect mother earth and keep our environment safe and clean.
The plogging initiative was conducted in partnership with Mumbai Ploggers led by its founder Rashmi Singh. Volunteers from the group plogged around the entire circumference of Upwan lake and collected non-degradable waste such as plastic bags, bottles, wrappers and cigarette butts. Plogging run is a prelude to the forthcoming 9th Hiranandani Thane Half Marathon that will take place on Sunday, February 12 in Hiranandani Estate, Thane. The next plogging initiative will take place on January 29 at Hiranandani Estate.
