Hon’ble CJI Mr Justice UM Lalit, presents the prestigious Capital Foundation Award to Dr Suneetha Narreddy
Hyderabad, November 7th, 2022: Hon’ble Chief Justice of India Mr. Justice Uday Umesh Lalit; conferred the prestigious Capital Foundation Award 2022; on Dr. Suneetha Narreddy, in recognition of her outstanding and distinctive contribution to Infectious Diseases Control, at a program organized to commemorate the 108th Birth Anniversary of Justice V. R. Krishna Iyer by Capital Foundation Society and Justice Krishna Iyer Free Legal Aid Cell; at India Islamic Cultural Centre Auditorium, New Delhi; today. Dr. Suneetha Narreddy is an eminent infectious Diseases specialist and a consultant at Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad. Shri K. K. Venugopal has conferred the Life Time Achievement Award: and several other distinguished citizens were presented with various other awards on the occasion.
About Dr. Suneetha Narreddy
Dr. Suneetha Narreddy, a well-known Infectious Diseases Specialist, started the department of Infectious Diseases at Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad, and subsequently started the Infectious Diseases Fellowship through the National Board of Examinations. Her contributions during the H1N1 and the recent COVID pandemic were commended by the state governments. She has worked as a liaison between the Private and Public sectors to improve the care of TB and drug-resistant TB patients. She is on the expert panel for Drug-Resistant Tuberculosis for the state of Telangana. She heads the Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee at Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad, and is part of other committees including the Drugs and Therapeutics Committee, Infection Control Committee, etc. She is the founding member and treasurer of the Clinical Infectious Diseases Society, India; Member of the Fungal Infection Study Forum; Infectious Diseases Society of India. She has organized multiple conferences on Infectious Diseases including General ID, Transplant ID, Tuberculosis, etc. Dr. Suneetha Narreddy has contributed in multiple capacities including, being a member of the WHO GDG on Drug-resistant tuberculosis, the WHO guideline development group in the treatment of cysticercosis, India COVID guidelines Antibody Working Group. She is involved in clinical research on COVID, transplant-related infections, and tuberculosis.
