New Delhi, Dec 24: An Investment Dialogue on Floating Solar and Pumped Storage Projects under Odisha’s Clean Energy Vision was successfully convened in New Delhi, bringing together senior government officials, utilities, industry leaders, financial institutions, and multilateral partners to deliberate on scalable, storagebacked renewable energy solutions for the state.

The inaugural session featured senior officials and experts, including Shri Subrahmanyam Pulipaka (CEO, NSEFI), Shri Soumya Garnaik (India Country Representative, GGGI), Shri Deepak Gupta IAS (Retd, DG NSEFI and former MNRE Secretary), Ms. Surbhi Goyal (World Bank), Dr. Jai Prakash Singh (Deputy Director General, National Institute of Solar Energy), Shri L.K. Tripathi (NHPC Limited), and Dr. Satya Priya Rath (MD, GRIDCO).
Dr. Satyapriya Rath, IAS, Managing Director, GRIDCO, outlined Odisha’s ambition to emerge as a front-runner both fiscally and in the clean energy transition. He emphasized that the state aspires to transform from a conventional energy powerhouse into a renewable energy leader, backed by strong fiscal fundamentals and system-scale planning. Highlighting the magnitude of Odisha’s existing energy base and its future ambition, he noted that Odisha aims to be a Renewable Energy Hub of India and expressed confidence that the state will soon become one of the leading states in renewable energy deployment, supported by project-ready sites, policy clarity, and an investor-friendly approach.
Speaking on the occasion Shri Subrahmanyam Pulipaka, Chief Executive Officer, National Solar Energy Federation of India, highlighted Odisha’s critical role in shaping India’s renewable energy policy and implementation ecosystem. He also mentioned about Odisha’s emerging role as one of the most attractive destinations for Renewable Energy Investments especially in Solar Manufacturing, Open Access Installations and Green Hydrogen.
The session also saw participation from Key industry leaders, technology providers, and financial stakeholders, who shared perspectives on floating solar and pumped storage technologies, asset safety considerations, financing norms, and execution challenges.
The dialogue reinforced Odisha’s emergence as a benchmark state for integrated renewable energy and storage deployment, signaling strong institutional capacity, long-term policy certainty, and readiness to scale private sector participation in next-generation clean energy infrastructure.
