Modern consumers prioritise convenience, especially with rapid technological advancements. This preference is evident in their choice of gadgets, as they seek to avoid multiple devices or complex setups. As a result, integrated devices are becoming the norm. With more households increasingly preferring UST projectors over television sets for home entertainment, users expect all their needs to be met with a single click.
“Today’s UST projectors integrate Google TV and a native Netflix App, providing a user-friendly interface with personalized content recommendations, access to multiple streaming services, voice control via Google Assistant and a unified search function. This helps users find content without switching between apps and simplifies their viewing experience without additional setups,” says Sushil Motwani, Founder of Aytexcel Pvt. Ltd, the official India representative of Formovie.
Motwani cites the example of home projectors like the Formovie Theater Premium, which provides access to over 700,000 movies, TV episodes and live channels across 10,000+ apps. “Google TV elevates the streaming and live TV experience by bringing together content from multiple apps and organizing it efficiently. The Google Assistant button on the remote further enhances convenience, allowing users to find and play content quickly and directly from the device,” he adds.
Immersive sound is another major draw for users. “That is why projector manufacturers are partnering with sound engineering companies to integrate built-in speakers that support Dolby Atmos and DTS-X. In the Theater Premium, advanced second-generation Bowers & Wilkins acoustics deliver a 3D surround sound experience with deeper bass, similar to a cinema hall. These built-in speakers also enhance convenience by eliminating the need for additional soundbars or external speakers,” adds Motwani.
Rich connectivity features are also integral to attracting consumers. The device offers multiple connectivity options, including HDMI for a cable box, Blu-ray player, or gaming console, while HDMI (eARC) supports soundbars or AV receivers. It also includes a USB connectivity port.
Hence, understanding the changing user preferences is crucial when developing updated devices, says Motwani and adds; “Users expect zero lag when watching action movies, live sports, or playing fast-paced games. This is where features like MEMC become relevant, effectively eliminating judder and ensuring a smoother viewing experience for fast-moving visuals.”
Motwani believes the future of home viewing lies in high-quality streaming from an all-in-one device, removing the need for additional hardware. “Just plug, play, and stream. This will define the future of home viewing,” he concludes.
