Chandragupt Institute of Management Patna (CIMP), in collaboration with TiE Patna, organised a virtual bootcamp on March 12, 2026, featuring renowned tech entrepreneur Sabeer Bhatia, the visionary who revolutionised global communication by co-founding the world’s first web-based email service, Hotmail.
The interactive session, titled “The Human Algorithm: Scaling Success from Hotmail to HotCoin,” was held virtually and attracted nearly 6,000 participants, including founders, students, dreamers, builders, and aspiring entrepreneurs eager to learn how innovative ideas can be transformed into scalable ventures.
Delivering the welcome address, Prof. Dr. Rana Singh, Director of CIMP, said it was a privilege to host a global technology pioneer whose ideas reshaped the way people communicate.
“It is a privilege to host Mr. Sabeer Bhatia, a pioneer whose vision transformed the way the world communicates. At CIMP, we believe in nurturing innovation and entrepreneurial spirit, and today’s session is a unique opportunity for our students, founders, and dreamers to learn directly from a global icon. This dialogue will inspire us to think beyond boundaries and scale ideas into impactful ventures,” he said.
During the session, Sabeer Bhatia, now Founder of HotCoin and Co-Founder of ShowReel, shared insights from his entrepreneurial journey—from launching Hotmail in the early days of the internet to exploring emerging technologies such as blockchain.
“From Hotmail to HotCoin, my journey has always been about pushing boundaries with ideas that are truly innovative and new. Success doesn’t come from following traditional paths; it comes from developing skills, questioning conventions, and daring to think differently. The world rewards those who innovate, not those who imitate,” Bhatia said.
Speaking during the event, Prof. Ramesh Jhadhav, Professor of Entrepreneurship at JUT Ranchi and BIT Sindri, social entrepreneur, and member of the TiE founding team, highlighted the importance of building strong entrepreneurial ecosystems.
“Entrepreneurship is not just about building businesses; it is about creating ecosystems that empower people to dream, innovate, and scale. Sessions like these, with pioneers such as Mr. Sabeer Bhatia, remind us that transformative ideas can come from anywhere, and with the right support, they can change the world. At TiE and in academia, our mission is to nurture this spirit of possibility and guide the next generation of entrepreneurs toward impactful ventures,” he said.
The session also included an interactive question-and-answer segment, allowing participants to engage directly with Bhatia and gain insights into innovation, startup strategy, and scaling global technology ventures.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Kumod Kumar, CEO of CIMP-BIIF and President of TiE Patna Chapter.
