Bangalore, December 2022: Dassault Systèmes (Euronext Paris: FR0014003TT8, DSY.PA) today announced that Director General Naval Projects, Vishakhapatnam (DGNP(V)) is using its 3DEXPERIENCE platform to help boost performance and innovation for key naval infrastructure projects in India. This includes facilitating industrial facade design, building information management, integrated project management, and budget optimization. With this collaboration, DGNP(V), which is actively involved in establishing marine infrastructure for the Indian Navy on the Eastern Seaboard, has achieved significant improvements in operations management and facility productivity, as well as improved cost and time efficiency of projects over time and reduced errors in calculations.
The 3DEXPERIENCE platform provides DGNP(V) with a single data repository for the integration of all design, project, and program-related information. The dataset enables the definition and implementation of standardized processes to support naval infrastructure activities. It also provides a real-time view of the activities through 3D modeling, virtual twin simulation, and information intelligence to improve project efficiency in key project areas including planning, budgeting, design, architecture, contracting, and execution.
The use of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform has reduced paper consumption. It has also improved employee productivity owing to online collaboration, and improved data and document search efficiency within a project and across locations. Additionally, the 3D planning platform has assisted with accurate material estimation and cost control upfront in the Detailed Project Reports (DPR Stage).
“Digital transformation boosts a company’s ability to secure the quality of a project by improving efficiency, monitoring project schedules, and delivering them on time and within a budget,” said, Deepak NG, Managing Director India, Dassault Systèmes. “The decision of DGNP(V) to adopt the 3DEXPERIENCE platform for their projects will strengthen the performance of the naval infrastructure sector by ensuring there is real-time control, visibility, and asset management across multiple key projects. We will continue working closely with DGNP(V) to deliver and further develop solutions that can help them achieve their goals for efficiency while ensuring sustainability.”
