Jeegar to Provide Financial Leadership and Support Citi’s Growth Strategy in India
Mumbai: Citi today announced the appointment of Jeegar Shah as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for its India franchise, effective June 1, 2024. In this role, Jeegar will serve as the single point of contact for financial matters in India while providing strategic financial management support to Ashu Khullar, Citi Country Officer for India and Head of Banking for Indian Sub-Continent.
Jeegar brings over 19 years of experience in finance roles spanning financial and regulatory reporting, audits, regulatory examinations, and driving strategic finance initiatives across Citi’s businesses. He had been serving as Interim CFO for India since February 2024.
“Jeegar’s deep knowledge of our operations in India and proven track record in financial management make him exceptionally qualified for this critical role,” said Ashu Khullar. “His appointment will provide strong financial leadership as we continue executing our strategy and delivering premium services to our clients in India.”

Jeegar is a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and holds a master’s degree in commerce from the University of Mumbai. Prior to his interim CFO role, he served as the Cluster Controller for Citi’s South Asia Cluster. As India CFO, Jeegar will report to Mui-Eng Teo, CFO for Citi’s Asia South Cluster.
