Chandigarh, Dec 26: Bank of Baroda (Bank), one of India’s leading public sector banks, has extended financial support of ₹75 lakh (Rupees Seventy-Five Lakh only) to the bereaved family of Agniveer Late Shri Naveen Kumar (13 JAK RIF – Kargil) under the Personal Accident Insurance cover of the Bank’s Agniveer Account Scheme. The brave soldier laid down his life while defending the nation during Operation Sindhoor on 20 May 2025 in Kargil, exemplifying indomitable courage and unwavering duty.
The insurance amount was respectfully handed over to his mother, Smt. Ajudhiya Kumari, during a solemn ceremony attended by Naib Subedar Santosh Kumar; Mr. Hardeep Singh, Retired Brigadier; Mr. Bal Kishan, Deputy General Manager and Regional Head of Shimla Region; Mr. Junaid Khan, RBDM of Shimla Region, and Mr. Supreet Singh from the Zonal Office, Chandigarh. On this poignant occasion, the dignitaries paid homage to the soldier’s exemplary sense of duty and supreme sacrifice while expressing deep condolences to the family.
Bank of Baroda paid tribute to Agniveer Late Shri Naveen Kumar’s indomitable courage and reaffirmed its steadfast commitment to supporting families of armed forces personnel who make the ultimate sacrifice for the nation. Through initiatives like the Agniveer Account Scheme, the Bank continues to provide meaningful financial protection and welfare measures to defence personnel and their loved ones.
