Kolkata, 14, July, 2023: Arohan Financial Services, a leading NBFC MFI, operating in 17 states, has launched a ‘Hearing Screening & Intervention Programme for Newborns’ at NBHS Serampore Walsh Super Speciality Hospital in Hoogly District, West Bengal in collaboration with VAANI Deaf Children’s Foundation. Through this programme, Arohan has helped 1600 newborns in the Shrirampur area of Hooghly District in West Bengal, with early detection of hearing loss. The parents of the newborns have also been provided with proper counselling with respect to their child’s hearing impairment. Arohan is a leading NBFC-MFI and through its strong Governance and Corporate Social Responsibility activities for women and communities where access to quality healthcare, basic education, water, and sanitation is restricted, has impacted over 8 Lakh lives so far.
This project implements a comprehensive life cycle model that effectively addresses hearing loss in infants. By ensuring early detection through technological interventions and providing health, awareness & educational support, endeavours integration into mainstream society.
Commenting on the initiative, Ms. Indrani Banerjee, Head of HR, CSR, Training and Administration, Arohan Financial Services Limited said, “Arohan, through its Corporate Social Responsibility, is committed to Women & Child Development. By extending our reach and ensuring early detection of hearing impairments in newborns, we intend to provide a better chance and a level-playing field to communities with limited access.”

In FY 2023, Arohan has put in place a well-defined E&S Policy that outlines its commitment to incorporating Environmental & Social considerations in its business operations. The E&S Policy has been created in accordance with the applicable E&S Good International Industry Practices, National Environment & Social Laws, and Regulations.
