Feb 05: As the streets of Goa prepare to turn into a high-speed race circuit for the Indian Racing Festival (IRF) scheduled in Goa on 14th and 15th February 2026, actor and team owner of Speed Demons Delhi, Arjun Kapoor says street racing brings out the most human side of motorsport; where instinct, calm, and character matter as much as pace.

For Kapoor, street circuits leave no space to settle in, “On a street circuit, there’s nowhere to hide. One small lapse can end everything. That reality makes every lap feel personal, not just for the drivers, but for me as an owner too,”  Racing through city streets, he adds, shifts the focus from raw aggression to mental strength. “You still need to be fast, but more than that, you need control. The teams that do well are the ones that stay calm when things get chaotic.” says Kapoor

At the heart of Speed Demons Delhi’s line-up is Shahan Ali Mohsin, a Delhi-born racer who has represented India in world karting championships across Europe and now returns to compete for his home city. “Shahan’s journey says a lot about how far Indian racing has come. He grew up in Delhi, raced internationally for India, and now comes back to represent Delhi on an Indian street circuit. That connection to the city and the team, adds a different kind of motivation.”

Kapoor believes moments like these resonate beyond the paddock, “For young racers watching, it shows that you don’t have to choose between racing globally and racing at home anymore.” The team also includes Ishaan Madesh, one of India’s most promising young single-seater drivers and the highest-placed Indian finisher in the 2025 F4 India Championship. “Ishaan brings hunger and focus. Finishing third overall in F4 India is a big achievement, and even stepping in for one round is about giving talent the platform it deserves.” Kapoor says

Adding international depth is Malaysian racer Alister Yoong, whose father – son motorsport legacy as the son of former Formula 1 driver Alex Yoong brings experience and perspective to the garage. “Alister has grown up around racing at the highest level. That exposure shapes how you approach pressure, preparation, and teamwork.”

Rounding off the line-up is Australian racer Caitlin Wood, a former W Series competitor and the first Australian woman to win at Nürburgring. “Caitlin’s presence brings belief,” says Kapoor. “She’s competed globally, broken barriers, and adds a level of confidence and visibility that lifts the entire team.”

As Goa gets ready to host one of the most demanding races on the calendar, Kapoor believes the weekend will be about more than competition. “This team represents where Indian motorsport is headed, rooted in homegrown identity, but confident on the global stage. Goa will test everyone, and that’s exactly the kind of challenge we’re here for.”
