10th, March 2025: Arete marked this year’s International Women’s Day with an unforgettable celebration, bringing together its incredible women for an experience that was more than just a movie screening—it was a powerful tribute to Excellence, Empathy, Resilience, and Empowerment, the four core values that define the organization’s culture and growth.
As part of Arete’s ‘U Matter’ initiative, which focuses on mental well-being and fostering a sense of belonging, the women of Arete were invited to Multiplex for a special screening of Umbaro. This powerful Gujarati film, featuring renowned actors Vandana Pathak and Kajal Oza, beautifully reflected the spirit of shared resilience and perseverance. The event took an even more exciting turn when the iconic Falguni Pathak made a surprise appearance on screen, instantly transforming the theatre into a lively Garba celebration as attendees embraced the moment with joy and unity.
In a touching gesture, each woman had the opportunity to bring along someone who lifted them—be it their mother, daughter, sister, or mother-in-law—emphasizing the belief that true empowerment thrives in togetherness. From the moment they arrived and were welcomed with flowers to the shared experience of laughter, tears, and heartfelt connections, the celebration was a testament to the strength of community and support among women.
“The U Matter initiative is about making every individual feel valued, seen, and celebrated,” said Shahin Saiyed, Director at Arete. “This Women’s Day, we wanted to create an experience that wasn’t just about entertainment but about uplifting one another, embracing our collective strength, and fostering a deeper sense of belonging. Umbaro was the perfect film to bring that sentiment to life, and the overwhelming response from our Arete women is a reflection of the bonds we share.”
The event concluded on a heartfelt note, with many attendees sharing personal stories of gratitude and admiration for the women who have uplifted them throughout their lives. Smiles, tears, and reflections filled the room, reinforcing the message that when women stand by each other, they rise stronger together.
With the U Matter initiative at its core, Arete continues to champion a culture of well-being, inclusivity, and empowerment—because at Arete, every individual truly matters.
