Mumbai, India, Dec 24: Luxury holiday wear brand SHIVAN & NARRESH partnered with athlete and fitness expert Robin Behl for the 2025 Antarctic Ice Marathon, the world’s most extreme and remote marathon. The collaboration brought together two forces redefining India’s presence on the global stage: a fashion brand known for modern, artful, technical luxury, and an athlete whose journey reflects grit, recovery, and an unwavering commitment to pushing boundaries.
The association came at a meaningful moment, presenting a natural opportunity to showcase Indian design on one of the world’s most visually dramatic frontiers, while supporting an Indian athlete undertaking a rare and demanding challenge. The partnership was anchored in shared values of endurance, craftsmanship, and innovation qualities that define both the brand’s design language and Robin’s athletic philosophy.
Adding to the significance of this journey, Robin Behl broke the Indian record at the Antarctic Ice Marathon, finishing in 5 hours and 5 minutes, making him the fastest Indian to complete the race, achieved in his first marathon itself.
“Ski & Après Ski has been integral to our brand promise since we founded SHIVAN & NARRESH in 2010. As we completed 15 years, the timing couldn’t have been more meaningful. The launch of our latest ski collection, paired with Robin’s expedition to Antarctica, created a seamless synergy,” the designers shared. “At the heart of this collaboration was Robin representing India on one of the world’s most remote frontiers, a moment that naturally ignited a sense of national pride. Seeing the Indian flag in a space that is both design-forward and visually spectacular felt powerful, and aligning that with India’s first luxury skiwear brand made it all the more fitting,” they added.
For Robin, the Antarctic Ice Marathon represented years of rebuilding after injuries and setbacks, and a lifelong affinity for nature and high-adrenaline survival challenges. “I love nature, I love adventure and I love anything that demands any sort of survival. There have been very few Indians that have run on that soil, and there was an Indian record that I wanted to attack… to be the fastest Indian on a continent meant a lot to me, knowing the history I’ve gone through with injuries and with sport in general,” he said.
Enduring 42 km on ice, with temperatures dropping to –40°C, harsh winds, deep snow, and near-whiteout visibility, demanded exceptional physical conditioning and overwhelming mental strength. As Robin explained, “It’s 80 percent mental… your thoughts can take you to a very dark, lonely place, so mental conditioning plays an important role.”
SHIVAN & NARRESH developed his marathon look with the technical rigor that defines their skiwear. The brand’s three-layer cold-climate system thermal base, insulating mid-layer, and protective outer shell guided the construction, ensuring durability and mobility at sub-zero temperatures. Visually, the outfit featured the statement Legermash art-print, created exclusively for his run, bringing together high performance and bold, recognisable SHIVAN & NARRESH design codes. Robin’s diverse movement background from surfing and climbing to martial arts—helped shape silhouettes that offered complete freedom while retaining his sense of identity. “I just needed something that gave me the freedom to move and that made me feel like myself, and I think they had it right there,” he added.
For the designers, the partnership reflected a larger vision for global presence. “Wherever India is represented, especially through our athletes, our design language should stand with equal stature, refinement, and international relevance.”
For Robin, crossing the finish line while carrying the Indian flag became a moment of profound pride. “It was a beautiful moment for me to wave that flag high while crossing the finish line with India in my SHIVAN & NARRESH outfit. I couldn’t have been happier.”
The collaboration ultimately stood as a bold reminder that India’s presence belongs on every frontier in sport, in design, and in global storytelling.
