Chandigarh, October 08, 2026: In a move aimed at facilitating the smooth organisation of festive celebrations and religious events, Chandigarh Power Distribution Limited (CPDL) has announced that temporary electricity connections will be released within 24 hours of receiving applications during the festive season.
CPDL officials said that applications submitted by 12 noon, along with all the requisite documents, would be processed and the temporary power connection released on the same day, subject to the fulfilment of prescribed requirements.
The initiative is expected to provide relief to organisers of Ramlila performances, religious functions, fairs and other festive gatherings, who require temporary electricity arrangements for lighting, sound systems and other event-related activities.
To ensure convenience and minimise the need for physical visits to offices, applicants can submit their applications online along with the necessary documents through CPDL website www.chandigarhpower.com. The streamlined process is intended to reduce waiting time, improve service delivery and enable organisers to make timely arrangements for their events.
CPDL CEO Brajesh Kumar said, “Our aim is to make the process of obtaining temporary electricity connections faster by extending every possible assistance to organisers so that they can make the necessary arrangements for their festive and religious events without unnecessary delays,” he said.
CPDL has urged applicants to ensure that all required documents are provided at one go to facilitate timely processing. Applicants must also comply with the applicable conditions and safety requirements for temporary electricity connections.
