Kolkata, Feb 13: Hyatt Centric Ballygunge Kolkata is pleased to announce the appointment of Prasanta Nandi as Director of Food & Beverage. With over 15 years of experience in luxury and upper-upscale hospitality, Prasanta brings a strong foundation in food and beverage operations, commercial performance, and team leadership.

Prasanta began his hospitality career on the operations floor, gaining hands-on experience across guest service, restaurants, bars, banqueting, and outdoor catering. He has since progressed through senior roles in operations, beverage management, sales, and departmental leadership with leading hospitality brands including Hyatt, Marriott, and The Leela Group. His career highlights include setting up and stabilising multi outlet food and beverage operations, managing large scale banqueting and high profile events, and driving operational discipline while strengthening overall financial performance.
His contributions to the industry have been recognised with accolades such as the BW Hotelier National Zone Winner Head of F&B 2024 25 and the F&B Manager Award by IHC London and IIHM 2023. He has also been part of teams that have delivered high profile events and served global leaders, experiences that have added responsibility and perspective to his leadership approach. For Prasanta, the most meaningful achievement remains building teams that grow in confidence, take pride in what they do, and create experiences guests genuinely connect with. He believes strong results naturally follow when people feel trusted and supported.
Under his guidance, dining concepts have earned notable recognition, with YAYAvar acknowledged by the Times of India Food and Nightlife Awards 2025 and ET F&B Leaders East, and Cal-On receiving honours from the NDTV Food Awards and The Economic Times Restaurant and Nightlife Awards. These recognitions reflect consistent execution, shared ownership, and strong cross functional alignment.
As Director of Food and Beverage, Prasanta oversees the hotel’s entire F&B ecosystem, including restaurants, bars, banquets, and overall dining strategy. His focus remains on operational excellence, financial performance, concept relevance, and people development, ensuring every guest touchpoint reflects quality, consistency, and the Hyatt Centric brand spirit.
Outside of work, Prasanta enjoys travelling, particularly through rural India, drawing inspiration from regional cultures, cuisines, and food traditions. He also values time for self reflection, often finding clarity during long road journeys.
